+
+Currently, librenms only supports port up/down SNMP traps.  Traps are handled via snmptrapd.
+
+## Configure snmptrapd
+
+Install snmptrapd via your package manager.
+
+In `/etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf`, add something like the following:
+
+```text
+traphandle default /opt/librenms/snmptrap.php
+```
